In February 2009 I had Surgery repairing a ruptured quad.  The recovery was a slow and painful process.  The pain in my leg was severe and  prevented me from sleeping through the night.  To obtain relief I resorted to taking pain pills.  After a 1 1/2 months of pain pills my friend suggested I make an appointment with Eva at Alternative Chiropractic, suggesting that she could help me with pain management and reduce the swelling.  After much thought, I made the appointment with Eva at Alternative Chiropractic Center. I was nervous and skeptical , but, was willing to do anything to help with the pain.  My first appointment was amazing.  Eva gave me an overview on Eastern Medicine, a subject I knew little about. Nonetheless, I was impressed with the time spent on making feel comfortable.  She was detailed when addressing questions and concerns regarding my situation. 

After my 1st hour session with Eva I walked out of the office free of pain.  Since that appointment I have been able to sleep through the night without pain.  The pain did return after a couple of days, however, not to the degree I had previously experienced.  The continued sessions the pain level decrease .  After 4 treatments I can honestly say,  I'm now pain free.  I'm back to working out and walking and I feel great.  I've learned and have benefited so much from this experience and I owe it to my friend Louisa for the tip and to Eva for giving me my life back.  Thank You both!

More about Eva

Eva was born in Kentucky and at seven years old moved to Boulder circa 1976 with her family. Thirty three years later she still loves the open sky and beauty Colorado has to offer. Her parents still live in the same house that she grew up in, the only difference being that the trees and the property taxes have gotten a lot bigger since she was a kid. She attended elementary school, junior and senior high and college in Boulder.

At 21 she moved to Seattle, WA to began her career as a Chef and continued for 15 years in that field until one fateful day her mother sent an article by mail (which she often did) about Bastyr; a University devoted to the study of Natural Medicine. Eva proceeded to request a catalog and upon reading about Acupuncture "it was as though fireworks went off in my head. I have never looked back." She received her Masters Degree from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA. Five Branches prides themselves on the highly esteemed staff from China and the U.S. and the experience the staff brings to the classroom. She spent the next four years with her head in the books and to this day still has her head in the books. "My curiosity will continue to excel and expand my skills to meet the needs of my patients."

After receiving her Maters Degree, Eva moved back home. She began studying Body Talk and completed all nine modules. Even though she does not practice Body Talk currently she feels the experience was so valuable to developing her intuitive sense. In 2004 she was employed by The Wellness Center and worked with  fellow employee Dr. Elliot Smith. It was through Dr. Smith that she was exposed to Electrodermal Screening (EDS). In 2005, less then two months after her first exposure she had acquired a machine and was up against a steep learning curve.

Dr. Smith opened Alternative Chiropractic Center in 2006 and it was soon after that Eva was proud to join his team. Under the tutelage of Dr. Smith she has become exceptionally skilled at the practice of BioEnergetic Medicine (EDS). " Becoming proficient on this machine offers a fantastic tool for the  benefit of all  my patients."

Eva feels fortunate to have access to a large pharmacy of Nutraceuticals. In 2007 Eva began to incorporate injection therapy into her practice. She has had the opportunity to train under Michael Young L. AC., Cary Gold P.T., Jacqualine Lockhart M.D., Dr. isali ben-jacob, DOM. Her goal is to travel to Italy November, 2009 to advance her studies; as she is very excited to continue her successes in injections for Pain Management and Beauty Treatment. Best of all is the overwhelminlgy positive response from patients! Currently she is combining acupuncure, trigger point therapy, injection therapy, cold laser therapy, Electro-stim acupuncture and supplements to increase effectiveness for pain relief and management.
